07/01/2008 Brain Thrust Mastery - News in Brief
The new album, Brain Thrust Mastery, will be released in
the UK on March 17th. It appears that there will be a 2
disc special edition. Fingers crossed it'll include footage from the BTM
sessions.
The album will be preceded by a single, After Hours, released
on March 3rd.
The video for After Hours was directed by Akiva Schaffer
(he whom directed all the WLAS vids and part of the Lonely Island). It looks
like a feature on the video shoot will be in NME
soon.
Lucky New Yorkers get a Christmas gig on December 18th organised by New
York Mag. Details including ticket sales can be found here.
In site related news, we are working really hard on the gigography and
hope to get it up very soon, in the meantime, if you have any tour related
stuff (pictures, posters, videos etc) please send it to pastshows@wearentscientists.com for
inclusion!
According to a REALLY SAD news report from NME, Michael Tapper, everyone's favourite hirsute drummer, has quit the band.
They issued the following statement to NME: "Michael Tapper has relinquished his duties as drummer of We Are Scientists in order to pursue other things."
Remember the good times, and download a heart-rending version of End of the Road, with Michael on lead vocals, recorded in Dublin last year.

Other news in brief:
Reading Festival was AWESOME. The audience sung along to every word of the old classics. 4 new songs were played including Impatience, Dinosaurs, the one with the ooooh's and another one.
Reading was the debut performance for the brand new live guitarist/keyboardist . NME call him Max Snow, Guardian call him Max Hart. Who knows the truth?

A handful of September shows have been announced in the US and Canada:

not be a report here next week.
31/07/2007 Live at Siren Festival, Part 2 - BOOTLEG!
We've just got our hands on a little bootleg from the Siren Festival (we stole it from a super secret music forum). The quality isn't crystal clear but it's certainly listenable.
Download it HERE (if the link expires drop us a line and we'll re-up it)
The tracklisting is as follows (apparently it's the full set minus one new song - damn!):
1. This Scene Is Dead
2. Inaction
3. Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt
4. New Song 1 (the one on the video down there)
5. Can't Lose
6. It's A Hit
7. Tonight Tonight (but tagged as New Song 2)
8. The Great Escape
Enjoy!
